5 Bars at Disney World That Feel Like Home (If You're from the Northeast)

Updated: May 12

...because sometimes a cold beer, solid seafood, and someone who might actually know your cousin is all you need.

What makes a bar feel like home? It's not just the drinks (though that helps). It’s the slightly-too-cold AC, the smell of something fried, and the sneaky feeling that someone at the bar used to date your sister’s friend. These are the spots at Walt Disney World that hit different if you’re from the Northeast—whether that means upstate New York, Boston, or coastal New England.

I could go full cliché and list every bar at Yacht & Beach Club (though let’s be real—Martha’s Vineyard is mostly coasting on charm and chilled Chardonnay), but let’s dig deeper. These five bars aren’t trying to impress you. They just are.

1. The Boathouse

📍 Location: Disney Springs

If your ideal Disney trip involves fresh oysters and a Duck Duck Razz beer, you’re my kind of person. The Boathouse feels like a night in Lake George or Newport—with boats you’ll never afford and a raw bar that always delivers. Bonus points if someone in Sperrys is drunkenly talking about their boat docked in “the cape.”

2. The Turf Club Bar and Grill

📍 Location: Saratoga Springs Resort

It’s tucked away, it’s a little dated, and it’s perched on a golf course—tell me that’s not home. The lighting is low, the pimento buffalo cheese dip is elite, and sipping a Mint Julep here while peeking out at the Mulligans gives quiet upstate vibes. It’s giving “we came here after a wedding once and now it’s our thing.”

3. Baseline Tap House

📍 Location: Hollywood Studios

Listen, Baseline just feels like that neighborhood microbrewery your brother-in-law keeps insisting you try. Great craft beer flights, soft pretzels the size of your face, and an outdoor patio that makes you forget there’s a giant AT-AT across the street.

4. Crew’s Cup Lounge

📍 Location: Yacht Club Resort

Dark wood, fishing gear, seafood towers—it’s giving New England tavern realness. The food is shockingly good, the atmosphere is peak cozy, and I wouldn’t be surprised if someone in here knew my dad’s old bowling league.

5. Rose & Crown Pub

📍 Location: United Kingdom Pavilion, EPCOT

Yes, it’s technically British—but you know we spend half our lives trying to recreate this vibe in the Northeast. Beer flights, Scotch tastings, standing-room-only chaos just to get something warm in your hands? It’s familiar. It’s rowdy. It’s basically every pub we try to open back home—with slightly better fireworks.

Final Sip

Disney World has plenty of themed bars, but these are the ones that feel like home if you're from the Northeast. A little no-nonsense, a little nostalgic, and always with the chance of running into someone in a Red Sox hat pretending they don’t love Disney—while quietly refreshing Lightning Lane times. Cheers to that.
